Kearth’s Korner

Greetings fellow adventurer! This is Kearth, and this is my Korner…er…Corner. Actually, I like Korner. Rol mentioned “Rol’s Ritings,” but that doesn’t make any sense at all. Plus, I got here first. More plus, I’m a better riter…er…writer.

This area is all about what I want to say—just me. And sometimes what other people want to talk about. But mostly what I want to say. Unless I invite them to say something, and then I am still in control, because this is my Korner, and that’s the write (ha!) thing to do.

I have so much great information to share that it would take a whole pile of websites to hold it all. That makes sense, doesn’t it? Of course it does. Anyway, enjoy…

Being a Hero

Posted by

People often ask me (well…there was that one time I was asked) what it is like to be a hero. They were (that person was) referring to the time I heroically pulled Rol from the ol’ pit of despair, when we first met. It’s funny how sometimes you move on from things and they almost fade from memory. But, in other cases, that doesn’t happen. This is one of those “that doesn’t happen” occasions. I think about it all the time. The truth is…I am a hero. I saved Rol. He was stuck in a pit. I saved him. I used his fifty feet of rope that he left lying...

Finding Creatures Under Rocks in Streams (not Oceans)

Posted by

I thought it would be beneficial to talk about something that I grew up with, but never really appreciated fully, or was very successful doing, until I met my friend Rol. That something is discovering and catching creatures in streams, rivers, creeks, and the like—the like not excluding, but also not necessarily including in this discussion, oceans, seas, lakes, bays, gulfs, ponds, puddles, pools, buckets full of water, or water in the bottom of your boot after accidentally stepping into streams, rivers, creeks, oceans, lakes, etc. (By the...

The Safe Way to Crack Your Knuckles

Posted by

Actually, there is no safe way to crack your knuckles. That’s the truth. Sorry. It’s basically just a bad habit. It may feel as though it provides comfort or a release of some kind, and that may be true for the moment, but over time it can lead to problems in the future, such as weakness in your hands. Have you ever seen a grandparent, or someone younger, having a difficult time buttoning a button or holding on to an object? It may not seem like a concern at this moment, but your health later in life is affected by what you are doing now....

Kearth’s Amazing and Jaw-Dropping “Pretending That You Are Cracking Your Nose” Trick

Posted by

This works for kids of all ages, as long as you have teeth and clean thumbnails. Having a nose helps, too, as opposed to a trunk or a beak, although you can use your imagination. The idea here is that you impress (or gross out) others with your ability to crack your nose. It doesn’t actually crack, but they don’t know that, and it can be very effective once you get the hang of it. Works at parties, while waiting for the school bus, when sitting down for meals, and basically any other situation other than a few obvious ones—in church, during a...
