I like flying wagons. I genuinely like them. I like them because they haven’t been invented yet. I like things that haven’t been invented yet because then I get to think about inventing them and especially the fact that I may be the first or even only one who has ever thought of them, ever, not that that matters, really, but it matters to me. Really.
For example:
Flying Wagon—I start with that because of course one should be invented. Everyone would like one, everyone would use one. But how do you grow wings on a wagon? And big enough to flap so the wagon and any people or objects in it can get off the ground? Or is there another way? Hmmmm….
Catapult Fun Ride—Oh, wait. Already invented AND built. By me. It’s in a story that you’ll need to read to find out more, but in short, it (and I) saves (save) the day…basically.
WireFire (or Wi-Fi for short)—What if there is a dangerous fire nearby (like the one in the same story mentioned above that you simply must read) and you need to let people know about it? If you have WireFire in your house you can simply pull the wire and a bell will ring to alarm people. Good to have, definitely. Not sure if the abbreviated name will catch on, though.
Self-emptying Bucket—Now this is a must-have! How many times have you carried a full or even overflowing bucket of water, slop, what-have-you, and wished that after all that carrying, it could at least do you the favor of tipping itself over to empty everything out instead of you having to use up what’s left of your precious energy to do that? If you’ve emptied a lot of buckets in your life, like I have, you know what I mean.
Never-ending Sandwich—Why this hasn’t been invented yet, I’ll never know. It’s up to you faithful reader—the fate of sandwich eaters is in your hands! Seems easy…all it would take is for the bread and other tasty stuff to last forever. That’s all. Or what if somehow after you eat the sandwich, the next day it comes back? And then comes back the next day, as well? Sounds so simple. Well, maybe not. Simple, but not easy. How about sandwich seeds? Just add water. Am I the only one who has these phenomenal ideas?
Instant Water—Speaking of water, this is for those occasions when you need some. Take a spoonful of this powder and just add water to it. Voila! Instant water. Amazing, incredible, convenient, and amazing. Pure genius, really. And who doesn’t like to say, “Voila?”
Your turn. You must have inventions in mind that need to be invented, for the benefit of the world and everyone in it, and everyone else, too. Maybe they are for your community, family, or even just you. No matter who they are for, they matter. So invent, invent, invent!
And let me know when you’ve invented and perfected the aforementioned wagon, bucket, and sandwich. They will surely come in handy—especially the sandwich. Do you think it will be ready by lunchtime tomorrow?
